Fully the successful loaning of a BR WHALE ballast wagon, the CVR looked into buying their own vehicle. An appeal was launched in Autumn 2023 that raised sufficient funds to purchase a BR SEALION wagon.

Following on from this, the opportunity has arisen to acquire a SR WALRUS, meaning the CVR would own a complete set of vacuum braked bogie ballast wagons - novel in itself but also highly useful for future works planned on the line. With monies raised previously, only £2500 is required to complete this appeal and so we are looking for 20x individuals/groups to sponsor £100 which with Gift Aid will give us the required amount to complete purchase. By supporting us as so, you will play a crucial role in helping us acquire the WALRUS wagon and improve our engineering train's capabilities significantly further.
