Most of us know that there is still a water crisis in many developing countries. The water in Arusha, Tanzania is not only scarce, but it also has extremely high levels of fluoride in them. Here in the UK, our government ensures the fluoride levels in our water stays below the 1.5mg per litre. But the water Suzie* drinks has levels of 7.6mg per litre, which causes teeth to break down and become brown, early onset arthritis can occur in the bones and studies have found high levels of fluoride effecting the brain.

Our rainwater harvesting tanks are collecting rainwater at for the students to drink whilst at school which is very low in fluoride :) This year, we are going to try and raise funds to bring clean water to 1,086 children by purchasing 13 tanks by 2020. To install an entire rainwater unit costs us around £760 which includes a tank, rain guttering, and installation. As little as £250 covers the cost to buy the tank and can impact the lives of hundreds of children.
