Gordon is raising money for The Primate Trust (Working With International Animal Rescue Goa)

We recently visited IAR Goa and were involved in the rescue of a female dog severely ill from advanced mange with bacterial infection. We named her Arabelle (she was found in Arambol) Arabelle is now at the IAR Goa where she is being treated.

IAR Goa was established as a charity (Registration No: 106/GOA/98) in August 1998. with the aim of reducing the terrible suffering of animals in Goa. To date they have has sterilized more than 30,000 dogs, 11,000 cats, and vaccinated over 60,000 dogs against rabies and have made a major impact on mange, which causes intense suffering and was endemic within the street dog community. IAR Goa also do their best to educate the public on animal welfare issues.

They have facilities to house over 100 adult dogs, 50 adult cats, 50 puppies, 50 kittens and 30 cows/bulls at any one time and with their veterinary facilities are able to undertake advanced surgeries. Although IAR Goa do take volunteers they do have enormous costs to cover and I urge you to please donate whatever you are able as every contribution however small helps this very vital undertaking. As an example just £10.00 covers the cost of sterilization for 1 dog

To help raise Funds and the Profile of IAR Goa I am doing a number of Adventure Races, Endurance events and Triathlons across Europe over the next 2 years. I have entered the Quest Killarney Adventure Race in Ireland which takes place on the 1st October 2016. This race is over 60 km of Mountain Running, Cycling and Kayaking in the Killarney National Park.
